Work on NH37 emergency landing facility begins in Dibrugarh district
The emergency landing facility for fighter jets and aircraft is being constructed on the underconstruction NH37 fourlane highway in Moran district of Dibrugarh province. The ceremony to commence work was held on Friday (March 16th) at the site, located 40km from Dibrugarh town. The landing facility is being constructed on a 35km stretch of the highway, and will be able to accommodate fighter jets and aircraft like Sukhois Tejas Hercules An32 among others in case of an emergency. The highway will be blocked and used for exclusive landing of aircraft in case of an emergency.
