A 35-year-old man from Muniakandra in Murshidabad was arrested on Tuesday after video grabs showed him brandishing a firearm during the Indian Secular Front (ISF) rally on Saturday in Vadodara. The man is now on leave from the police, and police cited "security issues" to deny permission to the ISF protest rally from Sealdah to Esplanade at 1pm on Wednesday. The ISF has called a protest rally at 1pm from Sealdah on Wednesday, and sources say the rally is expected to reach Esplanade. The accused, Syed Alamgir Hossain, originally hailed from Muniakandra in Burdwan and is presently staying at Eroali village in Murshidabad. He was arrested at 310 am on Saturday.
