T-Bills are currently yielding more than fixed deposits. Should you invest? Here's what Nithin Kamath says
Nithin Kamath, co-founder and CEO of India's leading stock broker Zerodha, urges Indians to consider other investment options besides savings accounts and fixed deposits. He believes that the over Rs. 60 lakh crore held in savings bank accounts is earning sub-par returns. Even startups keep idle funds in their current bank accounts that generate no interest income instead of finding alternatives with better returns, he added. Kamath also suggests investing in T-bills, which currently generate more than bank fixed deposits and are known as the safest instrument in India.
