The Supreme Court has disposed of NCP leader Mohammed Faizal's plea against his disqualification as MP following a 10-year jail term in a criminal case. The Lok Sabha Secretariat recently issued a notification to restore Faizal's membership. The bench left the question of the maintainability of the plea open but mentioned that the Union Territory Lakshadweep's appeal against Kerala High Court's January 25 order will be heard.
