Shah: Cong failed to ‘look east’, BJP delivered with ‘act east’

The home minister of India, Amit Shah, spoke at a large gathering in Manipur on Friday and blamed the Congress party for the "look east policy" but failing to deliver. He also praised the work of the BJP government in implementing the "act east policy," which has led to peace and development in the northeast region. Amit Shah mentioned that Manipur has made progress without any bandhs and blockades and that the armed forces special powers act, AFSPA 1958, is being lifted from six districts of the state. He also mentioned that the BJP government has spent Rs345 lakh crores in northeast India, which is equal to what had been spent for the region in the 25 years before the BJP came into power.
