PM to virtually address job fair on Jan 20

The Centre will hold the first job fair of the year on January 20 at 45 destinations across the country. Sources told ET that around 75,000 appointment letters would be given to the new recruits in different ministries of the central government.ET had reported earlier that the Union government has targeted to give 10 lakh jobs by the end of December this year. For the same purpose, a job fair is being organised at regular intervals to meet the target. The first such fair was organised in October last year handing out job letters to 75,000 new recruits.A second edition was organised in November. In the last two job fairs, the central government has given job letters to 1,47,000 people across the state and UTs in the country.On January 20, while PM Modi will address the job fair virtually from New Delhi, 45 Union ministers have been deputed to be present at the fair and hand over the appointment letter in person to the new recruits.In the last fair, Gujarat was excluded because of the election code of conduct. However, this time recruits from Gujarat will also get appointment letters on January 20.Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be present in Lucknow while Piyush Goyal will be present in Delhi. Most of the ministers have been deputed to a place in their home state barring few exceptions. While Union minister Prahlad Joshi will be present in Bangalore, Hardeep Puri will be in Ludhiana and Gajendra Shekhawat will be in Jaipur. Similarly, Bhupender Yadav will be in Faridabad, Giriraj Singh will be in Patna and Narendra Singh Tomar will be in Bhopal. G Kishan Reddy will be present in Hyderabad, the capital of his home state Telangana. Anurag Thakur will be present in Kanpur while Kiren Rijiju will be in Lucknow.
