Mamata Banerjee not likely to attend Opposition's meeting to finalise Presidential candidate tomorrow

Last week, the Opposition parties had proposed the name of NCP chief Sharad Pawar. However, Pawar declined the proposal, following which the Opposition decided to field a single candidate for the Presidential post. On Saturday, National Conference President Farooq Abdullah declined the proposal to be the candidate. Abdullah had thanked Mamata Banerjee for proposing his name, but stated that Jammu and Kashmir was at a critical juncture and his services were needed there.
