Left distorted history, portrayed Bharat as defeated race: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

The speaker at a convention of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) said that left-wing historians have distorted Indian history by making it a tale of defeats and submissions. He said that history should be rewritten to record the nation's victories, citing the examples of Guru Gobind Singh, Shivaji, Durga Das Rathore, and Lachit Bora Phukan who had successfully led campaigns against Mughal armies. He alleged that left-wing historians leave out the exploits of great personalities while writing history, and claimed that the new generation will not take inspiration from Aurangzeb, but from those heroes who challenged a 500-year-old empire.
