Govt constitutes delimitation board for Silchar Municipal Corporation
A five-member delimitation board has been established for the Silchar Municipal Corporation. The board will work to expedite the ward-based delimitation process and will submit a report to the state government within a notification. The chairman of the board will be the Cachar District Collector, Dipayan Chakraborty, and the members are Hemant Bhuiyan, Joint Secretary of the Housing and Urban Affairs Department; Bimal Oswal, a social worker and lawyer; and two additional district commissioners, one from Cachar and the other from Silchar.
