'Dying declaration has to be free of doubt'

Calcutta High Court has freed a person, whom a trial court had convicted in 1986 on a dying declaration, saying the premise of the trial court - a 'dying person cannot lie' - was faulty, adding that such a declaration had to be "free of any doubt", according to a Supreme Court order.
