CM lays foundation stones for 1777-crore infra projects in city
The Guwahati Foundation Stones were laid on Thursday, and the Bhumipuja was also conducted for several of the projects. The Chief Minister said that the infrastructure projects would act as catalysts in helping the government realize its aims and ambitions to transform Guwahati into the "nerve center of the region" in terms of economy, industry, cultural affairs, and tourism. He added that the new Raj Bhavan, once completed, would stand out as one of the most magnificent governors residences in the country. The state government will ensure the project is completed within the stipulated time. A redeveloped Guwahati Police Reserve Complex at Panbazar and a new office building for the police commissioner would prove immensely beneficial for the police in efficiently and effectively carrying out their official duties. The Assam government has 46 directorates scattered throughout the city, all of which will be grouped in the integrated directorate complex at Betkuchi, which is near the interstate bus terminal. Furthermore, the offices of the Kamrup Metro District Administration will be brought to the integrated deputy commissioner's office.
