Assam Government to Declare Results for Over 51,000 Government Posts on May 6

The Assam government is all set to declare the results of examinations for a whopping 51,397 government posts on May 6th, Thursday. This is a significant update for all the candidates who appeared for the exams in the Police, Health, Education, Grade-III, and Grade-IV departments of the Assam Direct Recruitment examinations.

Details of the 51,397 Posts

The posts include 5,730 vacancies in the Police Department, 5,799 in the Health Department, 14,241 in Education Department, 11,346 in Grade-III, and 14,281 in Grade-IV. It’s great news for all the aspirants who have been eagerly waiting for the results to be announced.

Other Important Decisions Made in the Cabinet Meeting

Apart from the announcement of results, the weekly cabinet meeting of the Assam Government, held in Udalguri on Sunday, made several other important decisions. These decisions include the renaming of the Tea Tribes Welfare Department to Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare Department, and the Directorate of Tea Tribes Welfare Department to Directorate of Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare.

Furthermore, the Assam Right to Public Service (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023, was approved to amend the Assam Right to Public Service Act, 2019. The amendment seeks to constitute the Assam State Commission for the Right to Public Services, which will be an independent quasi-judicial 3-member body with a Chief Commissioner and 2 Commissioners.

Age Condonation for Over-Aged Candidates

In addition, the cabinet meeting also approved the condonation of age for all over-aged candidates who appeared in written exams conducted by the Health and Family Welfare Department on January 10, 2021, and May 29, 2022.

Inauguration of Development Projects

Earlier on the same day, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, inaugurated several development projects worth Rs 300 crores in Udalguri district. He also interacted with ‘Divyang people’, specially-abled individuals in the Dimakuchi area of Udalguri, and instructed the District Collector to provide them with all the necessary help.
