Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).Last Date: 25/09/2021. Member Secretary, Empowered Committee on Elementary TET, Government of Assam has released the notification for most awaited Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET) - 2021 for Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) level for the state of Assam. Assam TET 2021 is going to be held on 24th October 2021 and online application process is being started from 25th September 2021. Assam TET 2021In provision of Section 23 of the RTE Act – 2009, Government of Assam has decided to conduct the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2021 for both Lower Primary and Upper Primary level for the state of Assam. Eligibility Criteria of TET Exam


Resident-ship: The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.


Educational Qualification: 
 
Lower Primary TET (Classes I to V):
 
a) Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR
Graduation and two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B. Ed) OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed). OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./B. Sc. Ed. Or B.A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed. OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B. Ed.(Special Education)

b) A person who is pursuing

Relaxation: 
 
Following relaxation will be applicable

Minimum Marks to Qualify in TET


A candidate is required to score 60 % i.e. 90 marks out of 150 to qualify the Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET). However, for SC/ST (Hills)/ST (Plain)/OBC/MOBC/PWD (PH), there will be relaxation of 5 %. Thus, for these candidates, qualifying marks will be 83 out of 150 i.e. 55 % .

Zones of TET Exam 2021

 
The districts have been grouped into several zones and a candidate has to select his preferred Zone while applying for the TET. After qualifying in TET, he or she will get preference for engagement as a teacher in his preferred Zone in accordance with the Government Notification No PMA.277/2019/7-A dated 22/08/2019. 
 
This will be applicable for both regular and contractual posts.
